Kouchouk: Egypt Seeks Stronger Economic Partnership with DR Congo, with a Greater Role for the Private Sector

Egyptian Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said Egypt aims to strengthen its economic partnership with the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with a greater role for the private sector, highlighting significant opportunities to expand and diversify bilateral trade within the framework of African integration and the African Continental Free Trade Area.

Meeting with Congolese Finance Minister Christian Yoka on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank meetings in Bangkok, Kouchouk said Egypt seeks to exchange expertise in fiscal reform, domestic resource mobilisation, debt management and policies that support private investment.

The minister stressed the importance of advancing bilateral cooperation through multilateral development banks to strengthen Africa’s position in the global economy.

“We look forward to working together to advance the priorities of African and developing economies within the global financial architecture,” Kouchouk said.
